Dear all,
I have decided to buy a newer van and so am putting my old trusted hiace up for sale. I will put on ebay tomorrow for 500 reserve.
I have had the old girl for over 5 years and i can honestly say it has never let me down. Barely run wih 182000 miles on the clock the engine still pulls very well and does not blow smoke. Anyone who has had the pleasure of owning one of these vans will know what i'm talking about. Compare to similar age Ford or any other make and Toyota are miles ahead. Thats why i am replacing with a newer Hiace!!
1996 Power Van. 182000 on the clock. MOT until Mid May 2010, tax until June.
Starts first time every time. No rust anywhere (a ford would have had 3 sets of rear doors by now), No leaks, 3 owners before me
I have put over 70k on this van with not a single missed start or breakdown. I love this van
Pulls like a train
Boarded out, racked, and wooden bulkhead. (NO tow bar as i will be removing this to fit to my new hiace)
oil changed 2 x per year. Toyota Service History up to 78K then local garage
timing belt last changed at 156K
Last service, replaced top wishbones on both sides and rear subframe bush mounting. (these are the expensive bits)
2 new front shock absorbers under 6 months old.
2 x sets of keys, immobliser
Used for very light work since i have owed it. 110000
This van flew through the previous MOT - it cost me £49 only!!
The bad bits
There is play in the rear suspension that causes the front nearside to deck out over very poor road surfaces, I have been driving it like this for over 2 years - i have gotten used to it. The problem is worst when the van is empty. (it got throught he last MOT!!!!!)
The off side front wheel is seized to the hub - I just can't be bothered to sort it - easy fix.
Due for a service - its not worth me spending out.
Alarm does not sound. the wire to the horn is broken - (happened when mechanic changed timing belt) easy fix.
This a cheap van - perfect for racing!!!! I have been as honest as possible,
Thanks Paul. send me an email if you are interested. paul@mes-ltd.co.uk
