Re: wanted..race rolling chassis

Where abouts in he country are you mr pan ? i am aware of full race packages available in The deep south (Selsey), the mid west (Hereford) and i think franks bike is still available in the (North) these are all ready to race plus stuff you need deals, check some of the previous posts to see why you should not try and build a bike yourself ,current thinking is that it is cheaper and easier to let someone else do all the skinned knuckles and alloy cutting so you can just swan around the track , look forward to seeing you out there, Moff #15

Re: wanted..race rolling chassis

hiya mate....im in the north west, preston to be precise! ive read a few of the nightmares folk have had building there own.....im no novice to building bikes ive built about half a dozen streetfighters and my little cafe racer is race prepped and ready to go! but i totally agree with you that i am better off letting someone else blow the dough on it! what i have found out over the years though is that you just end up redoing what should of been done properly in the first place:) im sure youve had it yourself!

the other aspect of wanting to build my own is to keep down the initial outlay of cash, so the missus doesnt  find out! anything is considered though depending on price!

grateful for any help

phil

Re: wanted..race rolling chassis

MZ racer for sale plus enough spares to build a second bike (it was originally 2 separate bikes). Bike originally built by Phil Munday and comes with a Burwins evo II engine and a CB racing engine as a spare. Come with 2 sets of 17" wheels (with a set of well used slicks and wets) and 1 set of 18" wheels (with inters) and a 3rd 17" front wheel. Has an AP racing brake, comes with transponder and tyre warmers.

Was last raced in 2007 by myself with some very poor results as I am 6ft5"  16st and rubbish at racing, with the right rider on board is capable of much more, even I achieved a 10th at Pembrey on it and comes with everything you need to get you started racing.  All for £1500

If you are interested call Frank on 079760974

Im sure you have allready seen this but big Frank is up your way well worth giving him a shout and going over to have a look what you are letting yourself into, i have no doubt you are more than able to put a bike together and one of the aims of the club is to keep things simple but it all adds up, i find that simply lying to my wife about the ammount i spend is most effective if that fails pretend to faint. keep us posted how you get on.moff #15

Re: wanted..race rolling chassis

Hey mate,

I know Tony Holmshore will have a long frame for you - they normally come mostly prepared and all you have to do is smother them in a coating of metal paint.  expect to pay 50 quid upwards.  make sure it has a headstock vin plate otherwise you wont get through scruit.

Trust me - its a lot less hassle to buy one off Tony H.  Preparing the frame is easy but very time consuming and if your stripping a road bike you will end up with a skip full of shite for the tip.

new headstock bearings are a tenner a pair and can be bought from your local belts and bearings shop.

It takes me 4-5 hours to build a bike up from a bare frame (including beer and fag breaks)

regards and good luck

Paul.

I've seen one of Pauls "Fag breaks". Not nice for the viewer, or the fag, Mercifully it was quick (unlike his outing on the Yammy Ass Master).

Think I covered all piss taking bases there, but feel free to add your voices to his pants outing on the Grass Blaster.
