Re: Cylinder rebore

They are nowhere near you but i use PJ Engineering in Wolverhampton and they do a great job, very reasonable prices and I'm sure you could do a courier thing no problem if you get stuck. Details below.

Re: Cylinder rebore

Hi,
North East Essex calling!

Message from Mark #66. He suggests calling Mick at Total Traction 01621 893715. His workshop is Tiptree/Maldon way (he used to be based in Colchester). Mark call's him a "2-stroke god" so if he can't help you the odds are that he'll know someone who can.

Cheers

Re: Cylinder rebore

Rebore's are a real specialist job, and you should only use someone you really trust.  I and (Brian - CB racing) use(d) Tony Hartlen who is in Surrey.  He pretty much only does re-bores, but get in quick as he's planning on retiring soon, least that's what he said when i took my CBR to be big bored just before xmas:

Hartlen Engineering. The Rebore Shop (Tony Hartlen). The Old Saw Mill, Shere Rd, Albury, Surrey GU5 9BW

When Tony was on holiday and i needed an urgent rebore I did A LOT of phoning round. The only people in the whole country who had as good a reputation as Tony were the guys Steve mentioned. Most other shops will take it to someone else to get the work done.

I think Tony Holmshaw can do rebores too, at least he used to do them.

P.s.  If you go to Tony Hartlen you'll have to clean out the bore yourself properly after.

Re: Cylinder rebore

PJ are great, if a tad inconvenient for you southerners.

They are motocross specialists and totally into bikes, I cant recommend them highly enough.

yep thats what i heard, if you live in the north you go to PJ, in the south you go to Tony. As Steve said PJ will do a postal service.
